You need to pay attention to your environment if you want to MASTER your back pain. Your environment can be thought of in two ways: internal and external.

Your external environment is the stuff that affects you from the outside. Things like the weather, the way you carry a hand-bag or a back-pack, and how you sit when you're driving.

Your internal environment is created by what goes on in the inside - by things you put into your body like water, food, cigarette smoke, medications and so on. Your internal environment is also affected by what you think, what you say, what you perceive, and how you respond to stress.

A Good Day for a Bad Back

There are many factors that affect your back: the way you move, sit, stand, think, eat, sleep and play all influence your spine. Addressing your symptoms is not enough for permanent back pain relief. Here are just a few of the components included in the MASTER System:

  • Your diet
  • Your sleep position
  • How you sit
  • How you deal with stress

We'll provide you with solutions to these problems and others you’re facing. You’ll receive a wide variety of educational material in many areas that contribute to back pain. Here is a free example of our nutrition module.

Muscle tension is the primary cause of back pain, regardless of your diagnosis, so helping you deal with stress to reduce tension is critical. Here’s just one of our audio MP3 programs to introduce you to controlled breathing.

It is also important to note that your external environment influences your internal environment and vice versa.

For example, someone who is stuck in an extreme slouched and rounded back posture has less lung capacity. Less oxygen is therefore available to the body. This leads to diminished capacity for all life functions such as physical activities, brain function and healing. Their external sitting posture affects their internal functions.

In this section of the MASTER program, you'll figure out your biggest environmental strengths and weaknesses and learn how to create a better overall healing environment for yourself.

This may involve adding some things to your daily rituals which you're not used to. It might also mean that you have to give some things up.

We'll walk you through the beginning of this process in a series of emails, videos and audios. You'll learn how to make gradual changes so that you build successful habits that contribute to your success.

Are your habits of sitting, eating, thinking and exercising helping to create a healing environment for your back, or are they contributing to the problem?

We'll help you answer those questions and show you what small changes you can make in your daily routine that will make a big difference to the way you feel.

This module of the MASTER System is the missing link for most of our patients and we're sure this will be a powerful component for you too.

When you're able to take these lessons and apply them to the way you "do life", there'll be no stopping you.
